Leongatha Community House offers courses to help you chart your own course through formal training, work and life.

Our partnership with Manna Gum Community House allows us to offer subsidised courses under the Victorian Education Department’s Learn Local program.

Courses on offer:

Literacies for Work

This course provides a comprehensive foundation in literacy, numeracy and information technology to support the work and training goals of people with disability.

It is centred on building three skillsets:

  • language skills for work
  • numeracy skills for work, and
  • digital skills for work.

1:00-3:00pm every Wednesday during school terms

Beginner English

This course focuses on providing essential communication skills that meet the needs of the culturally and linguistically diverse community of South Gippsland.

This course is not focused on formal language skills, but on social, administrative and professional skills to help learners engage in work, manage their own affairs and participate in the life of the local community.

7:00-9:00pm every Tuesday in Term 2

Step Up

This course focuses on building confidence and providing essential work and learning skills for participation in work and training.

It covers a range of skills for formal learning and job seeking and for succeeding in the workplace and advancing a career.

7:00-9:00pm every Tuesday in Term 3
